We need to pay more attention to the environmental footprint of our business than we have in the past. And we need to help our customers in their own efforts to lower consumption and emissions by offering them innovative fuel solutions.
Global energy consumption continues to increase. In order to achieve the climate protection goals, not only long-term strategies are needed, but also additional transitional solutions that already offer an innovative alternative to conventional fossil fuels and combustibles for existing vehicles and means of transport as well as heating systems and industry. Electromobility in the transport sector, for example, can only be one of several solutions, because the infrastructure for e-mobility, as in other sectors, cannot be fully built overnight. Alternative fuels, such as hydrogen and synthetic fuels (also called "e-fuels"), which are in the development and test phase, are further approaches to solutions for reducing emissions and for the energy transition. The Mabanaft group is active in this area and is involved in various projects and the marketing of corresponding fuels.
