Hamburg Employees Donate for Residents in Need
The Christmas tree in our Hamburg headquarters became a wish tree in December 2017: 24 parcels with wishes of Hamburg residents in need – children, the homeless, and refugees – hung in the branches. 146 employees from the Marquard & Bahls Group in Hamburg together fulfilled these wishes, donating over 4,500 euros to supply such items as sports equipment and sweets for refugee children, new kitchen utensils for a housing project for women, Christmas parcels for homeless people, and treats and craft supplies for a Hamburg children’s charity. The special feature: the gifts were handed over personally in the facilities; that way the employees got a direct impression of how their donations are used. Marquard & Bahls rounded up the sum and matched it with an additional 5,000 euros for the new project “Computer for Kids - Programming Courses for Hamburg Youths and Refugees”.
