Marquard & Bahls employees in Hamburg volunteer their professional and entrepreneurial knowledge in an international network of entrepreneurs and executives aged under 40 (Jaycees, JCI) at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce – all of whom have pledged to operate their businesses in a socially responsible manner and personally help develop the local economy. For this purpose, a number of programs were set up in six different project groups. The annual highlight for the Jaycees in Hamburg and other German cities is "Make a Difference Day," a one-day event organized by current and former JCI members in close collaboration with social initiatives. Once a year the volunteers host an unforgettable day with various cultural and sports activities for more than 300 children, teens and adults from various social welfare organizations. In recent years, also employees from the Mabanaft Group have volunteered their time for the Jaycees and "Make a Difference Day."
