The protection of the environment has highest priority for all our activities. Wastewater, air and noise emissions as well as solid waste generation are monitored and reduced wherever possible. We commit ourselves to use energy and natural resources efficiently.

Many of our companies are involved in storage and transportation of petroleum products. We are aware of the associated responsibility for people and nature. Therefore, we focus our efforts on preventing environmental damage and a purposive quick response to emergency situations. Our "Ship Charter Policy" which is applicable for all our companies ensures that all tankers and barges carrying petroleum products on behalf of Mabanaft not only comply to national legislation, but in above fulfill our stringent requirements with regard to safety and protection of the environment. As a responsible company, our parent company Marquard & Bahls decided to became a shareholder of Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) - the world's largest organisation for spill response - to be well prepared for emergency situations. |
